America's Educational Decline

Recent studies conducted by Advance Illinois revealed that 75 percent of children entering kindergarten were not academically prepared. Reading proficiently by the end of third grade is a crucial marker in a child's educational development. Failure to read proficiently is linked to higher rates of school dropout, which suppresses individual earning potential as well as the nation's competitiveness and general productivity. Additionally, high school students are three times more likely to go to prison than high school graduates.
Students who lack the basic reading, writing, and math skills, which caused them to struggle in the classroom. It is critical to address poor academic performance early and often for several reasons, some states solicit funding for prison based on the performance of students in the third grade.
Many schools in their current position can quickly become overwhelmingly challenging for students who get off to a slow start. This frustration is often two-fold, which impacts the educators and the educational system. Many educational professionals would agree that they are overworked and underpaid. Thus, causing a malfunction within the world’s most powerful system, which is the educational system.    
Students who perform poorly in the classroom oftentimes are reluctant to exert their best efforts. Studies also revealed a strong correlation between poverty, underemployment, unemployed the lack of education. According to Colin Powell, the lack of education will cost taxpayers 335 billion in lost wages, taxes, and productivity.
